Biography

Damien Saucez is a researcher at Inria Sophia Antipolis, where he has been working since 2014, following a postdoctoral position started in 2011. From October 2019 to October 2020, he worked as a network specialist at Safran Electrical & Power in Toulouse, France, focusing on the design of high-speed deterministic networks for aircraft. He received his Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Université catholique de Louvain in 2007 and his Ph.D., entitled “Mechanisms for Interdomain Traffic Engineering with LISP”, from the same university in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Olivier Bonaventure. His current research interests focus on Software-Defined Networking (SDN), with a particular emphasis on resiliency, robustness, and applications to mission-critical networks. He is actively involved in promoting research reproducibility, notably by co-leading the ACM SIGCOMM 2017 Reproducibility Workshop and chairing the ACM SIGCOMM Artifact Evaluation Committee. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, he also actively contributes to the IETF.

In parallel to his research activities, he is a certified Mountain Leader with Argos Rando.
